APPLICATION FOR TEMPORARY RESIDENCE VISAS: FOREIGN SPOUSES AND CHILDREN OF SOUTH AFRICAN CITIZENS AND PERMANENT RESIDENTS CAN NOW CHANGE THEIR STATUS OR CONDITIONS FROM WITHIN SOUTH AFRICA

Spouses and children of South African citizens and permanent residents can now change their status of conditions attached to their visas from within South Africa.
​
What this means is that those who enter South Africa with a holiday visa can now change their visas without having to leave the country to apply in their countries of origin. This was done to avoid separation of families.

Dies bedeutet, dass Kinder, Ehepartner oder Lebensgefährten und -innen von Südafrikanern oder PR-Inhabern mit einem Touristenvisum einreisen können und in Südafrika ein anderes Visum beantragen können, ohne dafür ins Heimatland zurückkehren zu müssen.

FOREIGN CHILDREN FROM VISA EXEMPTED COUNTRIES ARE NO LONGER REQUIRED TO SUBMIT BIRTH CERTIFICATES OR SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS
Children from exempted countries are no longer required to show birth certificates, parental consent letters or other supporting documentation when entering or departing South Africa.
